Neon Reliquary
Twin-stick roguelite · 40k+ players in launch month

Game Studio · Clerkenwell, London
Quantum Reel Empire is an independent game studio on Old Street crafting retro-inspired arcade titles, narrative RPGs, and tournament-ready multiplayer experiences for players and brands across the UK.
Our Story
We started by restoring a single 1983 arcade cabinet and never stopped building. Today our team of designers, programmers, and pixel artists ships original games and runs the liveliest game nights in EC1.
Two founders restore a derelict arcade machine in a Shoreditch lock-up and write their first shoot-’em-up on it over a long winter.
Quantum Reel Empire is registered as a studio and ships its debut title, “Neon Reliquary”, to 40,000 players in its first month.
We move into our Clerkenwell studio with a dedicated capture suite, a 12-seat playtest lab, and a wall of restored cabinets.
Our in-house tournament series, the Empire League, now runs monthly and has paid out over £85,000 in community prize pools.
What We Do
From a single pixel-art commission to a full co-developed release, choose the engagement that fits your project.
We design, build, and ship 2D and 2.5D games in Unity and Godot — from prototype to launch. Engagements include playable vertical slices, console-ready builds, and post-launch live ops.

Studio open Tuesday–Sunday, 11:00–22:00 · Game nights Friday & Saturday until late

“The prototype sprint paid for itself — we walked away with a vertical slice that landed us a publisher meeting within a fortnight.”

“I have been to every Empire League night this year. The cabinets are immaculate and the commentary makes even the qualifiers feel like a final.”

“Their pixel artists nailed the hi-bit look we wanted. Engine-ready sprite sheets, on time, and they tweaked the attack frames without a fuss.”

Good to Know
Not at all. We work with solo developers, hobbyists, brands, and established studios alike. A first design review session is the easiest way to start — bring whatever you have, even if it is just a concept on paper.
We primarily build in Unity and Godot and ship to PC, Mac, and modern consoles. For commissions we deliver art and audio in engine-ready formats so they drop straight into your existing project.
The studio floor is open Friday and Saturday evenings for casual play. The Empire League is a monthly bracket with a £15 entry; rankings carry across the season and the top players split a community prize pool at the finals.
Yes. We host private game nights for up to 30 guests and branded corporate tournaments with our own AV and commentary. Tell us your date and headcount and we will tailor the cabinet line-up and format to your group.
Full productions start from £48,000 and are scoped against fixed milestones, so you always know what each phase delivers. Smaller prototype sprints start at £6,500 and are a low-risk way to validate an idea before committing.
